                         Clarithromycin is a derivative of erythromycin, which was successfully developed by Japanese Taisho Company in the early 1990s and registered under the trade name Clarith. Afterwards, Taisho first transferred its technology to Abbott in the United States for production. It was listed in Ireland and Italy in 1990, and was approved by the FDA in October 1991 to be listed as a new class IB drug. Its trade name is Biaxin. Indications

Mainly used for upper and lower respiratory tract caused by sensitive bacteria, including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, etc., skin and soft tissue infections, pus furuncle, erysipelas, folliculitis, wound infection, etc. Cyclic lactones are similar.
