What is spiramycin
Spiramycin, white or slightly yellow powder, slightly odor; Micro-hygroscopic;
This product is dissolved in methanol, ethanol, acetone or ether, almost insoluble in water, insoluble in petroleum ether.
It is a macrolide antibiotic obtained from the broth of Streptomyces ambofaciens.
Spiramycin is acetate acetate of acetylspiramycin, which shows strong antibacterial effect after oral administration of deacetylation. Spiramycin is a very strong bacteriostatic agent that only acts as a bactericidal agent at very high concentrations.
Spiramycin is a macrolide antibiotic. It is used to treat toxoplasmosis and various other infections of soft tissues. Although used in Europe, Canada and Mexico, spiramycin is still considered an experimental drug in the United States, but can sometimes be obtained by special permission from the FDA for toxoplasmosis in the first trimester of pregnancy.
What function & Application does spiramycin have
Spiramycin has a strong antibacterial effect in vivo and post-antibacterial effect (PAE), can enhance the phagocytosis of phagocytic cells, and is widely distributed in the body.
