             Avermectin is a class of 16-membered macrolide compounds with insecticidal, acaricidal and nematicidal activities first developed by Kitasato University Omura Tomo, etc. and Merck Company of the United States. produced by fermentation.

           Natural Avermectin contains 8 components, mainly including 4 kinds, namely A1a, A2a, B1a and B2a, the total content of which is ≥80%; the corresponding 4 homologues with smaller proportions are A1b, A2b, B1b and B2b , its total content ≤ 20%. Commercially available avermectin pesticides use abamectin as the main insecticidal component (avermectin B1a+B1b, wherein B1a is not less than 90% and B1b is not more than 5%), and is calibrated with the content of B1a.

            Since Avermectin entered my country's pesticide market in 1991,Avermectin pesticides have played an important role in my country's pest control system. Avermectin is produced by more than 10 enterprises in my country. The commercially available abamectin series pesticides include abamectin, ivermectin and methylamino Avermectin benzoate. In the late 1980s in my country, the 7051 strain was isolated and screened from the soil of Jieyang, Guangdong, developed by the Shanghai Pesticide Research Institute. After identification, it was proved that the strain was similar to S.avermitilis Ma-8460 and had the same chemical structure as avermectin. In 1993, Beijing Agricultural University New Technology Development Corporation set up a project to research, produce and develop this drug.

           Avermectin is a new type of antibiotic with the characteristics of novel structure and dual use in agriculture and livestock. With the improvement of people's living standards and the call for green food, biological pesticides are very popular in the current pesticide market.
