What is Clotrimazole
Clotrimazole, odorless, white powders or colorless crystalline powders are soluble in anhydrous ethanol, acetone, and chloroform and are practically insoluble in water. Odorless, odorless, rapidly decomposes in acid solution. Clotrimazole hydrochloride, melting point 159°C.
Clotrimazole is a broad-spectrum antifungal agent and has a good antibacterial effect against various fungi, especially Candida albicans. Its mechanism of action is to inhibit the synthesis of fungal cell membranes and affect their metabolic processes. It has antibacterial effects on superficial fungi and some deeper fungi. The main clinical application is for external use to treat dermatomycosis, such as tinea pedis, tinea corporis, ear canal, and vaginal mycosis. The product is toxic, oral gastrointestinal reactions may have abnormal liver function and leukopenia. It has been used sparingly. No adverse reactions for external use, occasional local inflammation. External use of 1% to 3% cream, suppositories.

Clotrimazole is an antifungal skin drug used to treat deep and shallow fungal diseases caused by sensitive bacteria. Such as cryptococcal meningitis, Candida pneumonia, enteritis, histoplasmosis, tinea corporis, tetany and so on. Among them, the treatment of candidiasis is the best, and it is not effective for external use or internal use of the head lice.
