Amikacin sulfate is a semi-synthetic aminoglycoside antibiotic, which is the same class of drugs as gentamicin and streptomycin, and its mechanism of action is to inhibit bacterial protein synthesis. Clinically, it is mainly used for Gram-negative bacilli and infections caused by penicillinase-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.

Mainly used for respiratory tract infection, central nervous system infection, abdominal cavity infection, biliary tract infection, bone joint and skin and soft tissue infection caused by sensitive bacteria, burns, postoperative infection, urinary system infection, and other serious infections, such as bacterial endocardium inflammation, sepsis, etc. Amikacin can also be used as a second-line drug for anti-tuberculosis treatment, and its main adverse reactions are ototoxicity and nephrotoxicity.
