Function
2,6-Di-tert-butyl-p-cresol has nearly 70 years of application history and is the largest phenolic antioxidant (called antioxidant in the rubber industry). 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-p-cresol was approved by the FDA before 1958 and can be used as a food additive to delay food rancidity.
For organic synthesis, as antioxidants for rubber, plastics, gasoline, transformer oil, turbine oil, animal and vegetable oils, food, etc.
