Insecticide fipronil 5% CAS 120068-37-3 fipronil powder

What is fipronil 

Fipronil is a broad-use insecticide that belongs to the phenylpyrazole chemical family. Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide that disrupts the insect central nervous system by blocking GABA-gated chloride channels and glutamate-gated chloride (GluCl) channels, resulting in central nervous system toxicity. 

This causes hyperexcitation of contaminated insects' nerves and muscles. Specificity of fipronil on insects may come from a better efficacy on GABA receptor, but also because GluCl channels do not exist in mammals.

Function of fipronil

1.Fipronil is a highly active, broad-spectrum insecticide from the phenyl pyrazole family. It can be used against major lepidopterous and orthopterous pests on a wide range of field and horticultural crops and against coleopterous larvae in soil. It is also employed for cockroach and ant control. 

Toxicity: Rat, LD50, oral Males: 18 mg/kg; Females: 15 mg/kg Rat, LD50, dermal > 2000 mg/kg.

RESIDUAL EFFECT:

Fip-spray has a residual effect of 1 month (3-5 weeks) against ticks and 2 months (1-3 months) against fleas , depending on the parasite challenge in the animals environment .Fip-spray may be used on pregnant and lactating female Dogs/Cats and on un-weaned puppies/kittens.

PROPERTIES :

The formulation contains a coating agent producing a film which make the haircoat appear glossy. Neighter rain nor shampooing affects the duration of effect of Fip-spray on ticks and fleas.

STORAGE: Store below 25℃.

WARINGS : For animal treatment only . Keep out of reach of children.

PRECAUTIONS: Avoid spraying in eyes . As with all insecticides ,the following are recommened.-wear gloves, especially during treatment of groups of animals.-spray the animals in a well ventilated room. -wash the hands after use. Do not smoke, drink or eat during application . A practical guide to treatment with Fip-spray 125ml=(1ml per pump action) For cats and small dogs upto 10kg.
