Gentamicin is one of the few thermally stable antibiotics, so it is widely used in culture medium configuration. The successful development of broad-spectrum antibiotics in China is one of the great scientific and technological achievements since the founding of new China. It was developed in 1967 and successfully identified in late 1969 under the name gentamicin, which means to celebrate the "nine Great Congresses" and the greatness of the working class. Gentamicin [gentamycin] is an alkaline compound extracted from the fermentation medium of monospore of actinomycetes. It is a commonly used aminoglycoside antibiotic. It is mainly used to treat bacterial infections, especially those caused by gram-negative bacteria. Gentamicin can bind to bacterial ribosome 30s subunit and block bacterial protein synthesis.

1. Suitable for the treatment of neonatal sepsis and septicemia caused by sensitive bacteria.

2. It is suitable for the treatment of respiratory tract infection, peritonitis and biliary tract infection caused by sensitive bacteria.

3. It is suitable for the treatment of urinary and reproductive system infection caused by sensitive bacteria (except simple urinary tract infection).

4. Suitable for the treatment of sensitive bacteria caused by skin and soft tissue infection, burn infection, etc.

5. Oral can be used to prepare for intestinal infection or colon surgery

6. Parallel intramuscular injection with clindamycin or metronidazole can be used to reduce the incidence of infection after colon surgery.

9. Gentamicin eye drops are prescribed for causes of conjunctivitis, keratitis, dariocystitis, blepharitis, blepharitis caused by coagulase negative and positive staphylococci, pseudomonas cupric and Escherichia coli, Bacillus pneumoniae and other gram-negative bacilli and neisseria gonorrhoeae.
