What is Kanamycin Powder 

                 Kanamycin, a protein biosynthesis inhibitor, binds to 30S ribosomes to cause misreading of mRNA codes. If an enzyme that destroys kanamycin is produced in the bacteria, it can become a resistant strain. Plasmids resistant to kanamycin are often used as selection genes or marker genes in molecular cloning.

Application 

                Some strains of Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Proteus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Staphylococcus aureus are sensitive to this product. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Gram-positive bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), anaerobic bacteria, atypical mycobacteria, rickettsia, fungi and viruses are all resistant to this product. Microorganisms have certain cross-resistance between this product and other aminoglycosides.
Intramuscular injection of 0.5g, the plasma concentration reaches the peak in 1 hour, about 20μg/ml, t1/2 is about 2.5 hours, the plasma protein binding rate is very low, the volume of distribution (Vd) is 0.26±0.05L/kg, 24 hours after administration 90% of the drug is excreted unchanged in the urine within an hour. This product is more likely to penetrate into pleural effusion and ascites. Effective concentrations cannot be achieved in cerebrospinal fluid.
It is used orally to treat intestinal infections caused by sensitive bacteria and as a preparation for intestinal surgery, and has the effect of reducing the production of ammonia by intestinal bacteria, and has a certain preventive effect on hepatic coma in patients with liver cirrhosis and gastrointestinal bleeding.

                  Intramuscular injection is used for systemic infections caused by sensitive bacteria, such as pneumonia, sepsis, urinary tract infection, etc.

               When kanamycin diluted to a certain concentration is sprayed on cotton leaves, it can be used to identify whether it is Bt gene-resistant cotton. If the leaves turn yellow, it is not resistant to cotton bollworm, and if the leaves do not change color, it is insect-resistant cotton
